The author begins with Aristotle's early intellectual influences in education and in culture. Moseley organizes the works of Aristotle into applicable theory and explores the great philosopher's impact on various educational systems throughout history.
Dr Moseley's book provides a great help to scholars of education. He gives a thorough background in Aristotle's ethical and political theory to include the place of Aristotle's comments on education within his larger system. The analysis of the central sources on education is clear and Dr Moseley shows how it is relevant to contemporary issues. His account of Aristotle's legacy is well-worth knowing.
