Amiya Kumar Rath assumed the esteemed position of Vice Chancellor at the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, in April 2023. With an impressive career spanning several roles, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his current leadership role. Prior to his appointment as Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rath served as the Adviser (ICT) at the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, India, for an esteemed tenure of nearly four and a half years. His academic and administrative contributions have been widely recognized by governmental and private bodies, underscoring his profound impact on the field of education. As a testament to his expertise, Prof. Rath has served on approximately 100 national and 50 international conference and workshop program committees. Moreover, he has assumed the esteemed position of Program Chair for 15 highly acclaimed international conferences. Additionally, he has actively contributed to the Executive Committees, Boards, and Steering Committees of reputed government and private bodies. He has authored approximately 150 research papers in esteemed peer-reviewed journals and conferences at both national and international levels. His expertise has guided and mentored 14 doctoral scholars, who successfully obtained their Ph.D. degrees under his supervision. His research prowess extends beyond publications, as he has authored nine books published by renowned publishers. Prof. Rath has contributed to the evaluation of educational quality and relevance, playing a vital role in shaping the knowledge economy.
Bibhudatta Sahoo is a distinguished Computer Science professor at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela), whose research and teaching focus on several emerging and fundamental areas of computer science. His primary areas of specialization include Algorithmic Engineering, Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, Fog and Edge Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Dr. Sahoo’s research is driven by the goal of developing efficient algorithms and scalable computing systems capable of addressing the complex challenges of modern technology. His work explores the design and optimization of distributed systems and computing architectures, particularly in the context of cloud, fog, and edge environments. He has also contributed to advancements in software-defined networking, virtualized security, and network function virtualization. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Sahoo has a strong interest in Data Structures, Theoretical Computer Science, Computer Architecture, Parallel and Distributed Systems, and Web Engineering. Through his academic publications, research activities, and mentorship, he has contributed to the growth of knowledge in computer science while inspiring students to explore innovative solutions to challenging computational problems. Srinivas Sethi is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science Engineering & Applications at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang (IGIT, Sarang), India. He has been actively engaged in teaching and research since 1997, contributing significantly to the fields of computer science and emerging communication technologies. Prof. Sethi received his Ph.D. with a specialization in routing algorithms for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). His research interests have since expanded to several contemporary areas, including Wireless Sensor Networks, Cognitive Radio Networks, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), and Cognitive Science. His research focuses on addressing complex challenges in networking, intelligent computing, and next-generation technological systems. In addition to his academic and research activities, Prof. Sethi has served as a member of the editorial boards of various journals and as a Program Committee Member for numerous international conferences and workshops. He has also contributed to the academic community as an editor of four international conference proceedings published by renowned publishers, including Taylor & Francis. Prof. Sethi has published more than 80 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He has successfully completed eight research and consultancy projects funded by organizations such as DRDO, DST, AICTE, NPIU, and local government offices. Through his teaching, research, publications, and academic leadership, he continues to contribute to innovation and the advancement of computer science.
Mufti Mahmud is a Professor in the Information and Computer Science Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Engineering (Bioengineering Curriculum) from the University of Padova, Italy, and has more than 20 years of academic and industry experience across the UK, Italy, Belgium, Bangladesh, and India. Dr. Mahmud is widely regarded as a giant and highly influential figure in the research field, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing, Brain Informatics, and AI-enabled healthcare. He is an accomplished researcher with more than 350 peer-reviewed publications in journals, conferences, and books, receiving over 10,400 citations. Since 2021, he has been recognized among the top 2% of the world’s most-cited scientists in Computer Science. He received the Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Researcher Award from Nottingham Trent University in 2021 and has received several best paper awards at leading international conferences. His research focuses on developing safe, trustworthy, and responsible Artificial Intelligence systems for mission-critical applications, particularly healthcare, education, and secure communication. He has secured approximately £4 million in research funding from prestigious organizations, including the European Union and the British Council. Dr. Mahmud has held numerous leadership positions within IEEE, ACM, and other international organizations. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a Senior Member of both IEEE and ACM. He has also served in several editorial roles and chaired numerous international conferences. His research interests include Cognitive Computing, AI in Healthcare, Brain Informatics, and Responsible AI.
D. Chandrasekhar Rao is a distinguished academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering, with over 20 years of teaching and 15 years of research experience. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Centre for UG & PG Studies, BPUT, Rourkela. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor in Information Technology at VSSUT, Burla, from August 2011 to April 2024. Dr. Rao’s research interests encompass navigation planning for wheeled mobile robots, cloud and fog computing, blockchain technology, machine learning, intrusion detection systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT). His research reflects a strong commitment to developing innovative and practical technological solutions. He currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator in an IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation (TIDF)-funded project focused on underwater exploration. A prolific researcher, Dr. Rao has authored more than 30 research articles in international journals and conference proceedings. His contributions have earned several recognitions, including the Excellence in Engineering Education through Innovation Award from Wipro Limited in 2011, the NPTEL Discipline Star in Computer Science and Engineering, and the prestigious Govinda Chandra Sahu Award from the Institution of Engineers (India) in 2025. Dr. Rao is an active member of ISTE, ICSES, and IEI. He has also organized numerous FDPs, workshops, seminars, hackathons, and conferences and regularly delivers invited talks on emerging technologies, NEP 2020, and Outcome-Based Education.
Bikramaditya Das is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Centre for UG & PG Studies (CUPGS), Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha. With extensive experience in teaching and research, Dr. Das has made significant contributions to robotics, wireless communication, and autonomous vehicle control.
