She is haunted by loss, and by whispers from all around of The Mother, and Nancy's witchcraft.
When she discovers that her grandmother, the most powerful witch of her time, might still live, she seizes her chance. Desperate for answers, Nancy journeys across the Cornish wilds to find her grandmother and uncover the secrets of The Mother, before it is too late.

Notă biografică
Sam K. Horton lives above the moor in Cornwall, drawing on its wild landscape, wide skies and windblown folklore for his work. He trained as a costume designer before moving into visual art. It was during his last creative project that he discovered his talent for writing. This came as a surprise, despite a lifelong love of reading anything within reach, but a welcome one.
Recenzii
“Lyrical and evocative, this wonderfully creepy tale is truly a book to get lost in.” —JJA Harwood, author of The Thorns Remain on Gorse
“A mire of enchantment you’ll gladly sink into.” —Kit Whitfield, author of In the Heart of Hidden Things on Gorse
“Gorse is an addictive, dark but beautiful tale of a clash between the old and the new. It’s a masterclass in atmospheric writing and tangible world building!” —Emma Sterner-Radley, author of Snowblooded on Gorse
“Ragwort takes the wild, piercing beauty of Gorse and runs with it. This is a book brimming with love for the wild places, for folklore and for the fallibility and generosity of the human heart. Horton is a storyteller outside of time, I suspect he may be fae.” — Lorraine Wilson, author of BSFA Longlisted We Are All Ghosts in the Forest and The Salt Oracle
“A dark gem of a book, a fable about stories and the power they hold… Ragwort will sweep you away into a world where folklore and faith mingle and clash.” —MK Hardy, author of The Needfire
“Stunning and wondrous.” —The Historical Novels Review
