Autor Susan Coolidge Ilustrat de Susan Hellard
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 17 noi 2016 – vârsta până la 11 ani
Katy, a twelve-year-old gangly tomboy, dreams of blossoming into a sophisticated young woman, capable of grand deeds and adventures. She is however prone to mischief, and leads her six siblings into various scrapes, much to the annoyance of her kindly father and domineering aunt. Her life is turned upside down by a terrible accident, which leaves her a bedridden invalid. Now she is forced to learn the virtues of patience, sacrifice and hopefulness, as she comes to terms with her disability.

A heart-warming tale that has become a children's classic since its publication in 1872, Susan Coolidge's What Katy Did is a lesson in the value of good humour and perseverance against the odds for young readers. Beautifully illustrated by Susan Hellard, this is a poignant and timeless story that every child should read.

Recenzii

This was one of my favourite books as a child. The children felt real enough to touch, and I fell head over heels in love with Katy. It's a book with an unstoppable heart
One of my all-time favourite books . . . It's a wonderful book, very easy to read, even though it was published in the 19th century. It's a very lively funny story
Katy speaks with a charm and directness that remains as fresh as when it was written
It took me four days to read this book and I really enjoyed it. I would love to do all the naughty things Katy does - but I daren't!
'One of my all-time favourite books. It's a very lively, funny story' Jacqueline Wilson
Katy has grand plans to be beautiful, graceful and ladylike ... one day! But for now she has hair that is always tangled, bootlaces undone, a torn dress and she doesn't care for being called 'good'. With a wild imagination and high spirits, she is always up to mischief, but there never has been a heroine as loveable as Katy. Then a terrible accident happens and it takes all her courage - and hard-learned patience - to keep her dreams alive.
'Katy speaks with a charm and directness that remains as fresh as when it was written' Amanda Craig

'This was one of my favourite books as a child. The children felt real enough to touch, and I fell head over heels in love with Katy. It's a book with an unstoppable heart' Katherine Rundell
