The Humanual, Volume 1: The Humanual, cartea 1
Autor Adam Blaken Limba Engleză Paperback – 30 sep 2026
The Hardware is the first volume of The Humanual, a rigorously fact-checked, frequently ridiculous owner's guide to being a human. It walks through the machine one system at a time: the frame that was designed for walking and is now mostly folded into chairs, the engine room that beats about a hundred thousand times a day without ever being asked, the defense network that will occasionally declare war on a peanut, the wiring that runs the whole operation on one unbacked-up main cable, and the shutdown sequence you keep trying to skip.
Every chapter explains how the part works, how it fails, what the evidence actually says about looking after it, and which of the things you were told about it are myths. Each ends with practical maintenance, a set of Frequently Panicked Questions, and the honest answer to "should I be worried about this?" Four appendices cover emergencies, life-stage maintenance, a plain-English glossary of parts, and quick-reference cards.
Written with the warmth of a good teacher and the timing of a good comedian, The Hardware is for anyone who has ever looked at their own body and thought: nobody explained any of this to me. Correct. Until now.

Notă biografică
Adam Blak was issued a human body in the usual way, without paperwork, and has spent the years since trying to work out how it operates. The Humanual is his notes. Every claim in it was checked against the evidence, which is more than can be said for most of what you were told about being a person. He is also the author of The Good Work, a shorter book about how people might treat one another, and he lives near Philadelphia, where he is, at the time of writing, still a human.
