Notă biografică

David Wynn erforscht seit 2002 den Prozess von Design und Entwicklung. Nach Abschluss seiner Promotion in diesem Bereich arbeitete er als Forscher am Engineering Design Centre der Universität Cambridge, als Ingenieur bei Bombardier Aerospace in Montréal und als Senior Lecturer für Maschinenbau an der Universität Auckland, wo er in allen Studienjahren des Maschinenbaustudiums Vorlesungen zu den Themen Design, Fertigung und Produktentwicklung hielt. Darüber hinaus hatte David nebenberufliche Lehraufträge am Department of Mechanical Engineering der McGill University und an der Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering der University of Prince Edward Island inne und war Fellow des Homerton College in Cambridge. Derzeit ist er Associate Professor an der King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals und Mitglied der Herausgeberteams der Zeitschriften Research in Engineering Design und Journal of Engineering Design. John Clarkson kehrte 1995 an die Fakultät für Ingenieurwissenschaften der University of Cambridge zurück, nachdem er sieben Jahre in der Technologieabteilung der PA Consulting Group tätig gewesen war. 1997 wurde er zum Direktor des Engineering Design Centre ernannt und 2004 zum Universitätsprofessor befördert. John war intensiv in die Lehre des Designs auf allen Ebenen des Grundstudiums eingebunden. Während seiner Zeit bei PA Consulting leitete er die Advanced Process Group, wo er umfangreiche Erfahrungen in der Produktentwicklung sammelte, insbesondere im Bereich medizinischer Geräte und hochintegrer Systeme. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen das Ingenieurdesign im Allgemeinen, mit einem Fokus auf die Entwicklung von Designmethoden zur Bewältigung spezifischer Herausforderungen wie Prozessmanagement, Änderungsmanagement, Gesundheitsdesign, inklusives Design und Automobildesign. Neben über 900 wissenschaftlichen Artikeln hat John mehrere Bücher zu den Themen Design medizinischer Geräte, inklusives Design und Prozessmanagement verfasst und herausgegeben. Außerdem ist er Professor für Gesundheitssysteme an der Fakultät für Industriedesign-Ingenieurwesen der TU Delft.

This book expands on the foundations of a process perspective and discusses its realisation in many process models, theories and approaches that have been developed over the years.
