A mole, implanted by Moscow Centre, has infiltrated the highest ranks of the British Intelligence Service, almost destroying it in the process. The first part of le Carré's acclaimed Karla Trilogy,Tinker Tailor Soldier Spysees the beginning of the stealthy Cold War cat-and-mouse game between the taciturn, dogged Smiley and his wily Soviet counterpart.

Victor Tanasa a dat nota:
Outstanding. While I thoroughly enjoyed my fist le Carré, The Spy Who Came In from the Cold, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is on another level. The novel is tremendously immersive and feels very authentic. No doubt, the heavy use of jargon adds to that feeling; I was also quite surprised to find out that some terms, like "mole", were basically invented by the author and only after the book's publication did they entered mainstream circulation. It's usually the other way around! If you're looking for a gun-toting, gadget-laden, invisible-car-driver, James Bond type main character plus non stop action... look elsewhere. This is so much better.
