The Seven Dials Mystery

Autor Agatha Christie
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 7 ian 2025
A secret society's cryptic clock faces, a hushed gathering at midnight, and a sudden, chilling death set the stage for a tale that brims with suspense and intrigue. In the shadowed corridors of an English country house, a seemingly playful prank spirals into a labyrinthine murder mystery, where every guest is a suspect and every alibi is suspect. With the golden age of British detective fiction as its backdrop, this story draws readers into a world where the genteel surface of 1920s England conceals dark motives and dangerous secrets. Each chapter unfurls with the precision of a classic whodunit novel, inviting those who cherish traditional detective stories to match wits with a cunning adversary. The narrative is steeped in the atmosphere of a true English murder mystery, where the smallest detail-a cryptic note, a misplaced object, an overheard conversation-might hold the key to unravelling a deadly plot. The setting, a stately home with its manicured gardens and echoing halls, evokes the best of British crime fiction, conjuring an era when afternoon tea could be interrupted by the most shocking of revelations. As the investigation deepens, alliances shift and suspicions mount, capturing the essence of a crime novel England made famous. The interplay of sharp dialogue, eccentric characters, and unexpected twists ensures that each page is imbued with the tension and wit that define the finest English country house mysteries. Fans of golden age crime novels and collectors of British detective fiction alike will find themselves immersed in a puzzle as intricate as any devised by the genre's masters. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. Recenzii

'Her gift is pure genius.' Observer 'An amusing, exciting, well-written story.' Outlook 'All signs indicate that Mrs Christie has been reading P.G. Wodehouse, and she does it very well in spots. This is her gayest thriller and mustn't be missed.' Books
