Print in Archives: Library of the Written Word / Library of the Written Word - The Handpress World, cartea 158

Editat de Basil Bowdler, Andrew Pettegree, Arthur der Weduwen
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 5 apr 2027
This volume is the first to address the importance of archives for the study of early modern print culture and bibliography. It brings together twenty-eight chapters that collectively offer a pioneering discussion of the place and function of print in archival collections, examining what, how and why early modern print can be found in archives, and what implications this has for the study of book history. The volume underscores the ubiquity of print in archives and challenges the traditional neglect of archives in the bibliographical documentation of early printed books. The book’s chapters range widely across types of print found in archives and cover collections in Britain, the Low Countries, Italy, France, Germany and the United States, and includes perspectives from current archival practitioners.
