Pollyanna

Autor Eleanor H. Porter
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 8 sep 2026
A shaft of sunlight falls across a small New England parlour, where an orphaned girl-newly arrived and alone-faces a world that seems determined to test her spirit. In the hush of a turn of the century town, she brings with her an extraordinary gift: an unwavering optimism that unsettles the stern, transforms the lonely, and gradually softens even the most unyielding hearts. This uplifting children's book unfolds against the backdrop of early 1900s America, portraying the delicate balance between sorrow and hope, hardship and joy, as seen through the eyes of a child determined to find gladness in every circumstance. With a narrative that gently reveals both the hardships and the small wonders of a small town setting, the story captures the essence of a classic coming of age. The protagonist's journey is not only one of personal growth but also a celebration of resilience and kindness, making it a heartwarming family book that has inspired generations. The optimism theme is woven throughout, inviting young readers and adults alike to reflect on the power of perspective-how even the simplest acts of goodwill can ripple through a community. As a cornerstone of American children's literature, this girls' inspirational book stands out for its honest portrayal of loss, belonging, and the search for happiness. The narrative's gentle humour and emotional clarity create a reading experience that is both comforting and quietly profound, making it a perfect addition to any classic-library collection. The story's enduring appeal lies in its ability to speak to universal truths-reminding us that courage and kindness often emerge from the most unlikely places. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure.
