I didn't realize that this is an anthology when I picked it up and therefore I have been a bit disappointed that the first story was just a one shot, split into two as we get to see a second part of it at the end of the volume. Since this mangaka has a series, Twittering Birds Never Fly, which does evolve around yakuza, I went on ahead and read that one as well and the disappointment vanished. Regarding NightS, I did liked the stories. They are all different and interesting, some plotlines not being to my liking but the way she did them, alongside the art, plus the detailed and developed characters within those first two chapters made me give anthologies a try. I read it twice and I will most likely read it again soon.
