Mixed Mode Oscillations (MMOs): Studies in Systems, Decision and Control, cartea 374

Autor Zdzislaw Trzaska
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 iul 2021
This book aims to present a survey of a large class of nonlinear dynamical systems exhibiting mixed-mode oscillations (MMOs). It is a sort of a guide to systems related to MMOs that features material from original research papers, including the author’s own studies.

The material is presented in seven chapters divided into sections. Usually, the first sections are of an introductory nature, explain phenomena, and exhibit numerical results. More advanced investigations are presented in the subsequent sections. Coverage includes

* Dynamic behavior of nonlinear systems,
* Fundamentals of processes exhibiting MMOs,
* Mechanism and function of an structure of MMOs patterns,
* Analysis of MMOs in electric circuits and systems,
* MMOs in chemistry, biology, and medicine,
* MMOs in mechanics and transport vehicles,
* MMOs in fractional order systems.

This is the first extensive description of these topics and the interpretation of analytical results and those obtained from computer simulations with the MATLAB environment. The book provides the readers with better understanding of the nature of MMOs, richness of their behaviors, and interesting applications.

Caracteristici

Focuses on plenty of problems relating to modal mixed oscillations (MMOs for short) that often occur in real nonlinear dynamical systems Provides emphasis on existing and systematically emerging new methods in the field for scientists, engineers, and practitioners working in many, often interdisciplinary, fields where nonlinear dynamics plays a key role Is the first comprehensive approach to this topic emphasizing the nature of the phenomena studied and the effects of their analysis Presents the first complete introduction to the mixed-mode oscillations identification and control that fully combines software tools

Notă biografică

Zdzislaw Trzaska received the Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering both from the Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland, in 1970 and 1989, respectively. In 1975, he was a Visiting Professor with the Direction des Etudes et Recherches, EDF, Paris, France. In 1994, he was a Full Professor. He has published numerous papers on electric power systems and grids, stability of power systems, distributed parameter systems and partial differential-algebraic models, analysis and design of electric circuits, and assessment via power functional. He is the author of seven books published by Polish Scientific Publisher, Publishing Office of the Warsaw University of Technology and the publishing Office of the HSE&M. His current research interests include analysis and synthesis of dynamical systems, electromagnetic and thermal fields, nanotechnology, electrochemical spectroscopy. Chaotic oscillations, DAE systems and mixed mode oscillations focus his special attention. He developed the foundations of the hitherto unsolved energy determination of components operating in the periodic non-sinusoidal state. Recently he has published in Springer-Verlag a book "Mixed Mode Oscillations (MMOs)".
