Notă biografică

Eric Carle is known around the world for his beautiful picture books for young children, with their simple and entertaining yet educationally sound stories and their distinctive collage illustrations. Born in the United States, Eric Carle received much of his education in Germany, where he graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Stuttgart. Returning to the United States, he became a designer for The New York Times, and later was the art director for a large international advertising agency. His first book for children was published in 1968 with enormous success, and since then he has devoted his full time to creating books for children. He and his wife now live in western Massachusetts.
