Eager Street

Autor Arlando "Tray" Jones
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 mar 2009
"Eager Street" is honestly told by a writer who has paid every possible cost to tell it, and who spares himself little. It argues convincingly that in some worlds it is never a decision to destroy yourself and others, but merely the absence of a decision.--David Simon, author of "The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood."

Notă biografică

Arlando "Tray" Jones, III is serving a life sentence at the Jessup Correctional Institution in Maryland. While in prison, Tray has educated himself through a program offered by Coppin State University, graduating cum laude with a B.A. degree in Applied Psychology. He went on to take an extensive college-level curriculum in the Humanities through the JCI Scholars Program. He is the author of Eager Street: A Life on the Corner and Behind Bars (2010), and he was featured in Dr. Drew Leder's book, The Soul Knows No Bars (2009). He hopes his story convinces people, including young urban men, that life on the corner dealing in crime and violence is not glamorous, but a ticket to a life behind bars. "Every person will experience at least one great challenge. That challenge will have its ups and downs, highs and lows. No one can avoid life's inevitable great challenge. Therefore, no one is likely to be measured or judged by the challenge he faces. Each person is only measured or judged by the way he or she responds to that great challenge."
