Domains One

Kanchana Ruwanpura, Ozren Pupovac, Ananda Abeyesekere
en Limba Engleză Paperback – oct 2004
Domains One inaugurates an important new space in alternative scholarship. Edited in one of the leading small research centers in the global South - the International Centre for Ethnic Studies, Colombo, Sri Lanka (ICES) - by a noted postcolonial anthropologist and supported by an advisory board of great distinction, Domains will allow scholars associated with the centre and similar, allied institutions to have their voices heard in metropolitan centres, that have that have been unable to access their work before. Concomitantly, those located in Euro-American institutions will be able to follow and engage in debates and take on research problems emanating in institutions like ICES. Thematically important for Domains are problems of subordinate and dominant nationalisms in postcolonial spaces, questions of statehood, rule and governance, conflict resolution and constitutional reform on the one hand and gendered violence and social suffering, cultural diversity and communal co-existence on the other. Domains is particularly interested in post-disciplinary intellectual projects such as postcolonial feminism, critical legal studies and subaltern studies.
