Further Chronicles of Avonlea was published eight years after its predecessor and consists of new and exciting tales. Of the 15 short stories, Anne Shirley makes a brief appearance in The Little Brown Book of Miss Emily, which centers on her unique relationship with a cantankerous elderly woman. The book also highlights the exploits of a mischievous Persian cat, an estranged father and daughter, and a man who becomes a town pariah. It's a whirlwind of unforgettable tales that capture the essence of the small yet bold village.

In this second collection of stories, L.M. Montgomery continues to expand the world of Avonlea. She introduces new characters and scenarios that take readers on a trip through the unknown. Whether it's adventure, romance or mystery, the Further Chronicles of Avonlea has a story to be told.

With an eye-catching new cover, and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of Further Chronicles of Avonlea is both modern and readable.

Maria Nastasia a dat nota:

"Never a dull moment" is the perfect description of this sixth book in the Anne of Green Gables series. Anne and Gilbert have moved from their House of Dreams to Ingleside and their story jumps forward about 7 years. It was absolutely delightful to catch up with Anne and her family, especially her sweet little children. They get into many scrapes just like their mother did when she was younger. I felt like I connected with Anne in so many ways in this one. We're close to the same age and our children are growing up too quickly. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Maria Nastasia a dat nota:

There were all sort of characters with all sort of personalities in this book. Some were lovely, some dreamy, sulky, bad-tempered, nosey, cantankerous, chatty, lonely, romantic, worrier, tyrant, ungrateful, sensitive and mischievous. Just so many characters! They all were given a story even if it was just in one or few lines which was plus point, but the drawback was I felt dizzy reading about them all and trying to remember them. If I dare to list them all, I bet it will fill 2-3 foolscap pages. Ah and there was wedding and Anne’s part in eloping lovebirds. Some stories were emotional while some were comical. And there was lots of gossips and drama. I didn’t want Anne leaving this amusing community after 3 years but I knew it was not possible. I liked the way things turned out in all stories and things Anne learned throughout the book.

In 1935, she received the title of officer of the Order of the British Empire. Scholars and readers from all over the world have read and studied Montgomery's writings, journals, and correspondence. The University of Prince Edward Island's L. M. Montgomery Institute is in charge of doing academic research into L. M. Montgomery's life, works, culture, and influence.
