Spirit Davis spent his school years in San Francisco. After high school (Lincoln - class of spring "54") he enlisted in the in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a radio operator, journalist, photographer, and broadcaster. He retired after 22 years and returned home to San Francisco in 1976. He spent the next six years working as a purchasing agent in private industry, but missed the camaraderie of the military world. He applied for a job with the Headquarters 6th Army at the Presidio of San Francisco, and was accepted. When the Presidio was closed he then moved on to the General Services Administration working in law enforcement. Today he is in law enforcement with the Department of Homeland Security. He still lives in San Francisco. He and his wife have five sons and two daughters. They also have 13 grandchildren.
