Romanul ,,Un bărbat pe nume Ove”, de Fredrik Backman este o poveste despre iubire, despre pierdere, despre singurătate și, mai presus de toate, este o poveste despre a învăța din nou să trăiești. Cartea îl are în centrul său pe Ove, un bătrân morocănos, singuratic care nu își dorește nimic altceva decât să fie lăsat în pace de toți...Și familia care se mută în casa de lângă și care nu își dorește nimic altceva decât să îi strice liniștea. În stilul caracteristic al personajelor create de Backman, până la finalul cărții nu ai de ales decât să te atașezi irevocabil de fiecare în parte, să te bucuri, să râzi și în special să plângi alături de ele. Cu toate acestea, chiar dacă fiecare dintre personaje are un șarm propriu ce te face să vrei să afli totul despre ele, despre cum gândesc și cum simt, Ove, protagonistul, este de departe cel mai captivant. De-a lungul romanului avem ocazia de a privi atât în prezentul bărbatului, cât și în trecutul său. Astfel, aflăm cel mai important lucru despre el: Ove este un om care a iubit și care iubește. Încă de la început pare că tot ceea ce el face, toată existența sa gravitează în jurul a două lucruri: locul său de muncă și soția sa, Sonja. Apoi, într-o zi, se trezește fără ambele, așa că decide să își ia viața. ,,Machete și schițe. Lucruri care puteau fi desenate pe hârtie. Pentru el totul era alb sau negru. Iar ea era culoare. Toată culoarea lui.” După moartea soției sale, toată viața lui Ove își pierde sensul. Se depărtează de toți cei din jurul său și se izolează în muncă și în durere. O dată ce este concediat, hotărăște că nu mai are pentru ce trăi și încearcă să se sinucidă. Între timp, în casa alăturată se mută o familie tânără și haotică care intră cu asalt în viața bătrânului și îl ajută să găsească un nou sens pentru existența sa. ,, Pe Ove nu-l întrebase nimeni, înainte să o întâlnească pe ea, care era viața lui. Dar, dacă l-ar fi întrebat cineva, ar fi răspuns că nu trăise până atunci” Fredrik Backman reușește să surprindă cu măiestrie ce înseamnă să pierzi un om pe care îl iubești și să înveți să îți continui viața în absența lor. El evidențiază importanța comunității și a conexiunilor interumane , dar și fragilitatea vieții și a stabilității noastre. Consider că Fredrik Backman este unul dintre cei mai buni autori contemporani. Stilul lui de scris aparent simplu reușește de fiecare dată să mă emoționeze și să mă facă să devorez fiecare cuvânt din cărțile lui, iar romanul ,,Un bărbat pe nume Ove” cu siguranță nu este o excepție. Încă din primul capitol, am fost complet captată de poveste, iar atunci când am dat și ultima pagină, cu ochii plini de lacrimi, am fost cuprinsă de o serenitate și mulțumire inedite. Recomand din tot sufletul să citiți această carte și tot ceea ce Backman a mai scris.
