Stilul are ceva din proza lui James Rollins în Ice Hunt, fără să fie o imitație — Harper mizează mai mult pe incertitudinea psihologică și pe tehnica perspectivelor multiple. Dacă în The Orpheus Descent autorul explora adâncurile subpământene, aici mută teroarea la polul opus, într-un peisaj alb unde orice pată de sânge devine o sentință. Ne-a atras atenția modul în care încălzirea globală nu este doar un fundal, ci un motor al intrigii. Este un roman polițist alert, în care adevărul este la fel de fragil ca gheața sub presiunea unui spărgător de trupe.

Tom Harper s-a născut în Germania de Vest în 1977 și a studiat istoria la Lincoln College, Oxford.
