The book represents a valuable tool for universities, schools and all those who work in multi-agency contexts because it brings knowledge and understanding together, especially in a climate when professionals can be isolated in their own area when working with children.
This updated edition offers an accessible grounding into the complex array of legislation and policy that surrounds work in children's services. The cross-referencing between policies and the explicit discussion of the conflicts that exist between them is insightful and thought-provoking. The text includes extremely useful content that would support students in gaining an understanding of the complex nature of professional roles and the conflicts that can occur when working across disciplines.
This book is written in a student friendly way and clearly explains multi-agency working, with examples of case studies for the student to be able to put information into context, and an opportunity to reflect after each unit.
