The wild indigenous critters of the west coast of Canada have stories too, just like me and you. The characters presented in this book, Bobby Bear, Ollie Otter, Ms. Katie Cougar, and Reggie Eagle, have personalities, feelings and emotions, and communicate with a "universal language." They are effective raconteurs. While the plots and dramatizations of their stories are fiction, the biological processes and principals are based on a lifetime of the writer's personal observations and scientific facts. The characters evoke in us senses of awe, amazement, excitement, humour, and compassion. An underlying theme in these stories is the confounding and perplexing challenges that the characters face in having to share more and more of their home territories with us human animals. These stories give a refreshing perspective on the alarming global challenges that we are now all facing. It is truly a very small world.
