Recenzii
Maynard's intensively researched and beautifully written labour of love - enhanced by a wealth of intriguing old photographs and freshly prepared maps comparing the pond and its environs in 1850 and 2000 - communicates a real sense of place by skilfully embedding Thoreau's life, ideas, writings and reputations within the physical environment that inspired him.
