Following the murder of her husband, Jessie Kennard fights to rebuild her life, navigating a world filled with painful shadows from her past.
The invasion of Normandy in June 1944 gives Jessie Kennard hope that the end of the world war is near. She's grown to love her widowed mother-in-law and has embraced the mundane life of operating a general store in her husband's hometown in South Carolina. But when her mother-in-law reveals her plans to remarry and move away, Jessie's world is upended. With her son away at West Point, an uncertain future of loneliness looms over her. To navigate an unfamiliar path, she must first silence the whispering voices of self-doubt she has heeded since childhood. The unexpected arrival of the contentious stranger from her past heightens her confusion. Even as he pursues simple moments of connection, she grapples with embracing the friendship of the loner who defied her wishes by teaching her son to fly. Will his persistent challenges to face her fear as he reveals his mysterious past lead her to open her guarded heart to him?

Notă biografică

Corah is a native Floridian and has been married to her husband for 38 years. They have two adult children-a son, who, by the grace of God, is a cancer survivor, and a daughter who is mother to her two grandchildren. Corah and her husband recently moved to Arkansas to be closer to their two grandchildren.Writing has always been Corah's first love. In high school, she was Editor-In-Chief of the school yearbook and wrote for the school newspaper. She pursued a journalism degree after graduating high school. When life circumstances changed, she took a full-time position at a financial institution. After enjoying a successful career in banking, she took early retirement and focused on completing her debut novel "Grounded". The idea for "The Heart at Home" series was born almost twenty years ago. Through her writing, Corah hopes to narrate the characters' stories of emotional and spiritual transformation through God's redemptive love.
