Translating Electronic Surveillance Material: From Operational Contexts to the Courtroom

Autor Miranda Lai
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 24 mar 2027
This book explores the transcription and translation of electronic surveillance material lawfully obtained by law enforcement agencies for investigative and forensic use.
Lai addresses a specialised area of practice in which translators and interpreters are tasked with deciphering complex, ambiguous and unpredictable everyday speech and rendering it into reliable intelligence or evidentiary material. This book examines the unique challenges these professionals navigate in supporting effective investigations, while maintaining professional independence and ensuring the integrity and admissibility of their expert work in criminal prosecutions.
A valuable resource for translation and interpreting professionals, academics, and students, as well as for forensic linguists, legal and law enforcement practitioners.
