Standard Italian is gradually converging with spoken, informal, and socially marked varieties, a process which is giving rise to a new standard variety. This volume provides a better insight into this process by investigating it from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. The contributions cover a range of phonetic/phonological, prosodic, morpho-syntactic, and lexical phenomena based on new empirical and corpus-based research.
