Thomas E. Smith is the inspiring President and Co-Founder of the Thomas E. Smith Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals and families living with paralysis. A passionate hockey player from a young age, Tom's life took a dramatic turn when he sustained three unrelated paralyzing injuries in less than eighteen months. Refusing to let adversity define him, he defied the odds-transitioning from years in a wheelchair to walking with crutches through sheer hard work and determination. Driven by his own experiences, Tom established his foundation to raise funds and awareness for people that live with paralysis while also pioneering innovations like the Look-Up Line in hockey rinks to enhance player safety. Today, he is a proud father and husband and continues to motivate countless individuals with his resilience, optimism, and unwavering commitment to making a difference.
