Hesiod was an ancient Greek poet who was throught to have lived around the same time as Homer. Hesiod is considered to be the first economist and he was also a key source of Greek mythology, farming techniques and ancient time-keeping. Hesiod's poem Theogony is about the origins of the Gods and the world.
