In this, the first installment to a story about learning curves and staying true to one's convictions through trials, Ruth Sewel is a young, Floridian columnist and amateur thespian who dreams of getting into movies whether as an actress or a screenplay writer. So, to take a step towards these ambitions, Ruth enters a contest via social media and is selected to play in a movie called "The Naturalist" with a distinguished part...as an extra. Amid the perks and glamour of being "behind the scenes," Ruth gets more than she bargains for when she learns, first-hand, the challenge it is being a principled Christian in Hollywood's world. During this journey, she meets catalysts, antagonists, and advocates touched by her contagious spirit, including Matthew Anastas, a charismatic journalist, Ruth hopes to rise above uncertainty, feud, and the libel of those who seemingly wish to make her appear foolish to a following world.
