Han J.W. Drijvers, Ph.D. (1966) in Semitic Languages, University of Groningen, is Professor of Semitic Languages and Cultures at Groningen State University. He has published extensively on the History and Culture of Edessa including Cults and Beliefs at Edessa (Brill, 1980), on Syriac-speaking Christianity, and on Aramaic inscriptions.
John F. Healey, Ph.D., University of London, is Professor of Semitic Studies in Manchester University. His publications include The Nabataean Tomb Inscriptions of Mada'in Salih (Oxford, 1993).
