While the illustrations were a great part of the story and made me curious the entire reading time, the writing part didn’t hooked me at all. I found it difficult to follow the story line in the other half of the book and I also didn’t care much for the characters either. But I am still curious about the author’s other book, ‘The Invention Of Hugo Cabret’ since its story seems a bit more captivating than this one.

Descriere

The illustrated story begins in 1766 with Billy Marvel, the lone survivor of a shipwreck, and charts the adventures of his family of actors over five generations. The prose story opens in 1990 and follows Joseph, who has run away from school to an estranged uncle's puzzling house in London, where he must piece together many mysteries...
