Dacă ați apreciat tensiunea politică și atmosfera de spionaj din Blood On The Strand de Susanna Gregory, atunci The King's Evil vă va cuceri prin modul în care împletește fragilitatea puterii cu misterul criminal. Credem că Andrew Taylor reușește o performanță rară: transformă Londra de după Marele Incendiu într-un personaj viu, unde mirosul de corupție de la curtea lui Charles al II-lea este aproape palpabil. Ritmul narativ amintește de romanele lui Susanna Gregory, dar structura este definită de chimia complexă dintre cei doi protagoniști, James Marwood și Cat Lovett, ale căror loialități sunt constant testate.

În acest volum, mizele sunt mai ridicate ca niciodată. Marwood, marcat de stigmatul tatălui său considerat trădător, se trezește prins între datoria față de coroană și dorința de a o proteja pe Cat, care devine suspectul principal într-o crimă ce amenință stabilitatea monarhiei. Notă biografică

Andrew Taylor is the author of a number of crime novels, including the ground-breaking Roth Trilogy, which was adapted into the acclaimed TV drama Fallen Angel, and the historical crime novels The Ashes of London, The Silent Boy, The Scent of Death and The American Boy, a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller and a 2005 Richard & Judy Book Club Choice.
He has won many awards, including the CWA John Creasey New Blood Dagger, an Edgar Scroll from the Mystery Writers of America, the CWA Ellis Peters Historical Award (the only author to win it three times) and the CWA's prestigious Diamond Dagger, awarded for sustained excellence in crime writing. He also writes for the Spectator and The Times.
He lives with his wife Caroline in the Forest of Dean.
