Recenzii
"Drawing on positive psychology and organizational behavior theory, Rimmer champions kindness as a resource accessible to both individuals and organizations. Rimmer posits that kindness must be meaningfully integrated in libraries through both personal effort and structural change ... Rimmer’s book offers a timely guide, permitting readers to pause and assess where wellness labour fits in librarianship. Rimmer positions kindness as a critical competency worth skill-building, not an invisible given within librarianship. Kindness is taken up as work. The book blends Rimmer’s own experiences as a kindness, burnout, and wellbeing coach with her leadership background in higher education and academic libraries. Ideas are offered with full optimism, but grounded—this is not a book of affirmations. For Rimmer, kindness is not a moral imperative; it is a strategic necessity. "
— Canadian Journal of Academic Librarianship
"Considering the stressful situations that librarians often confront, this critical book will benefit many and should have a place on library shelves. Rimmer’s helpful and timely work is an important tool for understanding the power of kindness in daily interactions. A recommended purchase for any professional development collection."
