Recenzii

Beautifully written, and with an intricately plotted mystery at its core, this is a rare treat
A brooding, haunting and deeply heartfelt thriller that kept me turning the pages long into the night
Original and compelling . . . highly atmospheric . . . Blue's own back story [is] almost worthy of a book of its own
Fantastic. Chilling, compelling, and complete - and you should absolutely read it
A compulsive, atmospheric thriller, Thorne's bewitching prose had me hooked from the first page
Beautifully written and with supernatural elements guaranteed to chill you to the bone. This compelling novel will snatch you up and not put you down again until you've finished
Chilling, claustrophobic and creepy as hell. Loved it!
The Grief House is a sublime novel. Atmospheric and beautiful, it will chill your blood and haunt your dreams long after you turn the final page
An emotional, constantly tense, scary and yet ultimately utterly human story that pulled me in and wrung me out. One of my absolute books of the year
Dark and haunting, this is a book to read at night with the curtains drawn. Beautifully written, I didn't want the story to end
Dark and creepy and deeply satisfying, this will be lapped up by fans of both Susan Hill and Sarah Pinborough
Steeped in mysteries and floodwaters alike, the supposed sanctuary of The Grief House is anything but... With beautifully drawn characters, a perfectly realised atmosphere and a plot that won't let go, this is a terrific read
The Grief House grips from page one. With lyrical writing and a tense, claustrophobic atmosphere that builds with the floodwater, this story of secrets and loss will keep you up at night as you race to the finish
I dare you to step inside The Grief House ... a tense supernatural thriller, possessed by the spirits of a dark past. I was hooked and haunted from the very first page!
Rebecca Thorne's The Grief House is a truly original story, with a compelling, in-depth exploration of grief, trauma and healing. I was totally gripped by the gradual, skilful revelation of Blue's story, and the ways in which her mother's obsessions marked her life. The setting is masterfully depicted, with the tension rising in tandem with the flood waters threatening the house. An absolute page-turner, this is a must for thriller fans
There is a central mystery - and a good one - but the real strength of the novel is in the lyricism of the writing, the careful structure, and the depth of the characterisation. The inherent claustrophobia of the present day setting is beautifully done, along with some very well-judged 'stomach-drop-moments' of gradually realised creeping horror in flashback. The way that the apparently disparate backstories cohere is clever and unexpected. And the story develops and humanises not only the main character, but so many others too, so that everyone here - good or bad ... feels real in their own way. It's fantastic - chilling, compelling and complete - and you should read it

BESTSELLER POTENTIAL: Locked-room thrillers are hugely popular, consistently hitting the bestseller lists. This is for fans of The Sanatorium and Lucy Foley - but has a fresh twist for readers ready for the next thing.
