After his daughter's murder, grieving father Joe is devastated when police release the prime suspect, David Calderwood, citing a lack of evidence. Convinced the man is guilty, Joe takes matters into his own hands and abducts Calderwood, imprisoning him in a basement cell to force a confession.
But Joe soon discovers that wanting revenge and carrying it out are very different things. When another child is abducted near Calderwood's home, Joe becomes certain his captive is involved and that time is running out.
As he investigates the man's life and searches for answers the police couldn't find, Joe must decide how far he's willing to go for justice - and whether he's prepared to cross a line he can't return from.
