Notă biografică

C. Hugh Snyder was born in Pratt, Kansas, on June 14, 1915. He graduated from Cullison High School in 1933 and earned a Bachelor's degree in math and science from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. His aspirations to teach and pursue architecture were interrupted by World War II. As an officer in the Army Air Corps, he trained in meteorology and served overseas in England, North Africa, Sicily, and Italy with the Fightin' 47th. His experiences, including battling malaria and witnessing the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, are captured in his book, The Fightin 47th, alongside his personal photographs and drawings.
