The summer of 1979 was supposed to be their last chance to be kids. Then something started writing back.
Fourteen-year-old Wilder has always noticed things other people miss. Shadows where none should fall. Changes that happen when no one is looking. As their ordinary Indiana summer gives way to something far more dangerous, the friends uncover evidence of Oneirion, a place beyond their world where stories are more than stories and the beings who write them can reach into reality itself.

To survive, four teenagers who are still trying to understand themselves must learn whom to trust, what to believe, and whether the darkest parts of their lives were ever truly theirs alone.
