'The Black Dwarf' belongs to Walter Scott's 'Tales of My Landlord' series, and is one of his shortest novels. Set in the Scottish borderlands, it tells the story of the Dwarf of Mucklestane Moor, widely suspected of being in league with the Devil, and his embroilment with Jacobite intrigues.
