Aida Dalati is a Syrian-American fashion designer, independent researcher, and cultural preservationist focused on the history and symbolism of Syrian costume and textiles. Her research highlights women's dress as a historical record, exploring how embroidery, weaving, color, and pattern convey knowledge and identity across Syria and the Levant. Dalati oversees a significant collection of Syrian folk costumes and has collaborated with the Syrian Ministry of Culture to establish the National Syrian Folklore Costume and Textile Museum in Damascus. She founded the Laura Raqqa Sew Initiative to support women artisans through historically informed costume production and divides her time between the United States and Syria.
