The mutated virus destroys most of humanity as it sweeps across the planet. In the wake of the disaster, federal and local governments no longer exist, and the infrastructure, once taken for granted, no longer functions. Small groups of survivors band together trying to put the country back together again, but their efforts are thwarted by groups of misfits bent on abduction and pillage. The future of humanity is far from certain as the forces of good and evil battle for the ultimate control of the country.
