Storied Citizenship: Reimagining Civic Encounters Among Children and Youth in The Post-Digital Age

Editat de Theresa Rogers, Elizabeth Nelson, Amber Moore, Harini Rajagopal
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 15 ian 2027
Through the expansive lens of storied citizenship, this book offers a collection of diverse projects with, by, and about young people as they engage with pressing issues of inequality, democracy, belonging, and climate through arts, media and storytelling in our post-digital age.
To achieve this dynamic scope, the book is organized into four sections that map significant resonances among generative and material projects involving civic engagements: Forming Citizenship, Critical Youth Citizenship, Digital and Multimodal Citizenship, and Eco and Posthuman Citizenship. Each chapter nested within these foci offers a particular examination of critical and creative expressions of storied citizenship from across the world, deepening our understanding of youth citizenship. As such, this book enhances and extends conceptualizations of civic engagement across diverse disciplinary and contextually unique sites – projects that are lived and shared in local and larger public spaces.
Storied Citizenship will appeal to educators, and scholars and students in civic education, cultural studies, digital studies, youth studies, literary studies, geography, and sociology, as well and those doing interdisciplinary work, who are seeking to expand their conceptualization(s) and perceptions of what constitutes every day, lived “storied citizenship” among children and youth.
