Sri Radha: Woman, Consort & Goddess

Autor Anamika Roy
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 24 feb 2027
There is always a big question in history, that who is Radha? It is also very difficult to understand the character of Radha, found in literature, religion, and folk. In Brahmanical religion and Sanskrit literature, Radha comes across as one of the most popular female characters. She is the most misunderstood, but a strong entity. She is discussed by scholars, aesthetes, worshippers, and naïve readers equally. She variously appears to be the epitome of feminine power, a playful heroine performing Rasa, a goddess, and a cowherd woman. This book explores the study of Radha who is elevated from Gopi (cowherd woman) to the position of a Goddess. The journey of Radha is explained with new terminology Radhaism and Radhatatva by the author.
Spanning feminine theology, Bhakti, Rasa, feminine ecology, erotic geography, gender, or popular culture the book showcases manifestation of Radha from diverse perspectives. It will be an interesting read for scholars and researchers of ancient history, cultural studies, gender studies, religious studies, popular culture, theology, and Hindu mythology.
