Recenzii

Sonic Encounters offers new theoretical structures and methodological approaches to ethnomusicology, sound studies and practiced-based research, not to mention comparative religion. This comparative ethnographic work offers ways to hear and understand the sonic ties that bind a religion - in this case Islam - while revealing the many ways in which religion is localized and expressed as part of many different manifestations of contemporary identity.
