Notă biografică

Shirley Stendahl-McLeod is a self-taught artist who was born in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. She moved to Connecticut in 1957 and delights in painting New England Landscapes and Seascapes, capturing the splendor of the four seasons. She travels and paints views from coast to coast. Touring the interior and entire coast of Spain, Portugal and France and camping at remote locations, she found the colors of Southern France to be breathtakingly beautiful. as shown in the soft hues of her canvases. In 1990, she began to Winter in ST. Thomas and ST. John V.I.- living and painting on her houseboat studio which is moored in American Yacht Harbor. Inspired by the beauty of the Caribbean Sea, her paintings are a blend of rich colors, Impressionistic magic and dreamy softness. Shirley's "Colour of Love" Series depicts two artists who meet while painting at a beach in Westport, Connecticut. During their journey, they explore the same interests and pleasures. With each of her romantic paintings, the Artist/Poet has enhanced the tenderness of the scenes with inspiring poems. Shirley's award-winning art is collected internationally and are available in Galleries in ST. Thomas and ST. John, V.I., Connecticut, Martha's Vineyard, and Florida.
