Skels is the story of a paramedic and a poet, whose connection with Blake, Rimbaud and other writers manifests itself in her ability to see the amazing, sometimes mystical underworld of the skels (homeless people) that she encounters on rescue runs. In this novel Dubris shares what she saw during her own time working as a paramedic - not literally, but, more importantly, how she felt in her soul. She portrays the magic, violence, humour and passion she felt and displays these feelings here in all their potent glory.
