Sho Hondo

October marks the completion of the multimillion-

dollar Sho Hondo Grand Main Temple in Taisekiji,

Japan.

Three thousand Buddhist Americans prepare to

embark on a pilgrimage to meet their mentor

and pray to the Dai-Gohonzon, the great mandala

inscribed by the Buddha Nichiren in 1279 for the

salvation of humankind.
