Sienna is the sixteen-year-old daughter of the Desert Queen and the sole surviving heir to a throne fraught with a long history of tension and war. The desertlands, the last of the freelands, are sought after by the waterlanders' Warrior King. The waterlanders have thus far been unable to overtake the desertlands because of a simple gift the desertlanders all possess- extremely heightened senses. The rulers of the desertlands possess the strongest senses of all. Sienna longs to flee from her gift. The heightened senses of her race allow her no peace. One fateful day Sienna makes a decision which will affect her life and the lives of those she loves forever.
