Notă biografică

Robert M. Kershner, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.S., is an internationally recognized ophthalmologist, surgeon, educator, researcher, inventor, and author whose career has been devoted to advancing the science and practice of vision care. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and subspecialty certified in Cataract and Refractive Surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery, he has performed more than 32,000 microsurgical procedures and has helped restore and preserve vision for individuals from around the world.
Dr. Kershner earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology with distinction from Boston University and received both his Master of Science degree in Cell Biology and Biochemistry and his Doctor of Medicine degree, with honors, from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center before serving as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at the University of Utah Medical Center.
Throughout a career spanning clinical practice, academic medicine, research, and technological innovation, Dr. Kershner has held numerous leadership positions in ophthalmology. He founded and chaired the Department of Ophthalmic Medical Technology and the Center for Innovation in Health Science, served as Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah School of Medicine, and was I.K. Ho Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Eye Laser Consulting Global, advising physicians, health systems, educators, industry leaders, regulatory agencies, and members of the legal and investment communities on ophthalmic technology, surgical innovation, product development, and clinical research.
An accomplished scholar and educator, Dr. Kershner has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has written or contributed to more than 37 textbooks. He has lectured extensively throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East, and has received numerous national and international honors recognizing his contributions to surgery, research, innovation, and education.
