Jessamy Perkins is an Australian cyber security strategist, governance specialist and thought leader with almost two decades of experience protecting some of Australia's most critical government, defence and national security systems. Throughout a career spanning the Australian Government, Defence, intelligence community and critical infrastructure, he has advised senior executives on secure-by-design architecture, cyber resilience, enterprise governance, protective security, risk management and national security capability.
Jessamy has held senior leadership and advisory roles across the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Australian Signals Directorate, the Department of Defence, Australian Army Headquarters and major consulting organisations, providing strategic advice on cyber security architecture, secure cloud transformation, Zero Trust, identity, risk governance and the protection of nationally significant systems. His work has supported some of Australia's most complex digital transformation programs, particularly where security, resilience, assurance and operational delivery intersect.
His expertise extends well beyond traditional cyber security. He specialises in integrating security into enterprise architecture, organisational governance, procurement, workforce strategy and executive decision-making. Throughout his career he has consistently advocated that security should not be viewed as a technical function operating at the end of projects, but as a strategic capability embedded throughout organisational design from the outset.
Jessamy is the creator of the Resilience Integration Framework (RIF), an enterprise governance model that integrates strategy, governance, architecture, risk, operations, assurance and continuous learning into a single resilience lifecycle. The framework forms the foundation of this book and reflects his broader belief that cyber resilience is ultimately determined by the quality of decisions organisations make rather than by technology alone.
His research increasingly focuses on the convergence of artificial intelligence, cyber security, workforce psychology, organisational resilience and national security.
