Descriere
Michael Bacon gives a critical presentation of Rorty's writings on pragmatism and political theory, comparing and contrasting him with pragmatists such as Hilary Putnam and Susan Haack and liberals such as John Rawls and Brian Barry. The result is an imaginative presentation of one of contemporary philosophy's most innovative and important thinkers.

Recenzii
Bacon presents a spirited defense of Rorty's positions, while being sensitive to its possible weaknesses....Recommended.
This work makes a refreshing change to have somebody argue that I'm not really all that confused, insouciant, and sophistical. Bacon's patient replies to dozens of my critics represent an enormous amount of work. I am grateful to him for having taken the time and trouble to produce a sustained and carefully argued defense of my line of thought.
