Notă biografică

Karen Jacobs is a clinical professor and program director of Boston University's online post-professional OTD program, she has worked at Sargent College since 1983. She is a former AOTA president, 2005 Fulbright Scholar, 2011 Eleanor Clarke Slagle Lectureship Award recipient, and 2020 Outstanding Mentor Award honoree. She is a certified professional ergonomist and founding editor of WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation. Mother of three and Amma (grandmother) of five, Karen enjoys travel, cooking, skiing, kayaking, and photography.
Laela Simon earned her occupational therapy degree in 1999 and has practiced for over 25 years in physical rehabilitation, acute care, psychiatry, and home care, including director of rehabilitation roles. She holds certifications in Parkinson's, vestibular, and cognitive rehabilitation. Currently working in home care and behavioral health in Connecticut, Laela is the mother of Sophie and Zachary. She is proud that her daughter is pursuing occupational therapy as a third-generation practitioner. Laela enjoys gardening, meditation, travel, theater, and attending her children's activities.
Sophie Simon is a Mercy High School graduate in Middletown, Connecticut, beginning an undergraduate health sciences program at a Connecticut state university, leading to a master's degree in occupational therapy. Inspired by her mother and grandmother, both occupational therapists, Sophie aspires to follow their footsteps with interests in pediatrics and mental health. She is passionate about supporting children and individuals facing emotional and developmental challenges. In her free time, Sophie enjoys time with family and friends and staying active.
